Take Your Students Abroad On Service-Learning Programs
Global Impact Academy provides high school history and humanities students the opportunity to partner with schools and education institutions abroad to provide much needed infrastructure projects, cross-cultural exchanges, and education campaigns. These 8 -day custom group volunteer travel programs also incorporate cultural learning activities designed to build students’ history and humanities knowledge. Each Squad is comprised of a minimum of eight (8) student volunteers accompanied by a minimum of two (2) complimentary faculty leaders. GB Academy professional in-country teams (include Program Facilitators, Paramedics, Language Support Staff, and Private Drivers) handle all the program logistics and ensure group safety.

Create your perfect program in Central America
This summer, join students and teachers from across the country on 8-day service trips to Belize, Guatemala, Greece, Ghana, and Panama. Each Academy will take a cross-disciplinary approach to resolving development issues in our partner communities. During the Academy, you will partner with a local school to accomplish 25 hours of service work on WASH, Health, and Education projects. The program also includes fun and engaging cultural and enrichment activities each day. We will meet the students at the airport and organize all food, lodging, transportation, and logistics during their stay.

Day-to-Day Details
Days 1 – 2:
Arrival & Orientation
Our staff will meet you and your fellow Academy program participants at the airport and provide transport to a hotel in the city for orientation and preparation. You will be introduced to our team and get to know everyone.
The following day, you will visit a local heritage site before being transported to the region where you will be working. In the evening, you will learn about rural healthcare and local economic needs.
Days 3 – 6:
Rural School Campaigns
Students will work with our team to support the construction of essential public health or community infrastructure at a local school. Additionally, students will help provide health screenings and workshops to local students and community members. In the evenings, there will be cultural activities to introduce participants to the local customs, arts and crafts.
Days 7 – 8:
Cultural Activities, Sightseeing, and Departure
Students enjoy cultural activities and explore local tourist sites before returning to the city for final evening reflections, celebrations and departure. Friends and family will be excited to hear the many amazing stories, friendships, and discoveries you made!

Cultural Learning
In each partner country, students and faculty will be immersed in the local culture and will be introduced to some of the region’s most beautiful traditions. For example, in Belize, students will learn from locals how to cook cassava pudding or practice “Cayetano” inspired artwork.
Enrichment Activities
All of our program countries offer optional add-on enrichment activities. In Panama, the options include an overnight trip to Soberania National Park excursion, a day trip to Monkey Island, or a Boat Tour of the Panama Canal.
Local Tourism
In addition to the optional enrichment activities, all groups will spend at least an afternoon or two enjoying local tourist sites as part of their trip.
This might include a guided visit to Maya ruins, a trip to a local beach, or a walk through the jungle.
