Aparna began volunteering with Global Brigades in 2019 at the University of Guelph. During her four years with the medical chapter, she served as the Finance and Fundraising Representative, followed by Chapter President in her final year. In 2022, she took on the responsibilities of Campus Chairperson, working to build a Public Health and Dental chapter as well as leading the Eastern Student Leadership Conference. She also led the chapter on medical brigades to Greece in 2022 and Guatemala in 2023.

She is currently studying medicine at Saba University School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2023 with a BSc in Neuroscience.

Driven by Global Brigades’ commitment to sustainability, Aparna hopes to integrate the holistic model of care in her role as a future physician.
